TrustQore in the British Virgin Islands
TrustQore is a regulated financial services group licensed and regulated in five jurisdictions.
TrustQore (BVI) Ltd and its three subsidiaries are regulated by the Financial Services Commission in the British Virgin Islands.
The British Virgin Islands (BVI) is located in the Caribbean, to the east of Puerto Rico boasting a total population of around 31,700. TrustQore is located in the islands’ capital, Road Town on the most populated island, Tortola.
BVI is a premier international finance centre. An hour ahead of New York, the US dollar is its official currency. It has developed its finance sector, leveraging business-friendly regulation and thoughtfully designed tax incentives. The government was keen to streamline company incorporation at an attractive cost, culminating in the consolidation of various laws into the BVI Business Companies Act, 2004.
BVI promotes a diverse range of regulated financial services. Multi-jurisdictional structures are attracted by BVI’s stable legal system based on English law, together with a hard-won reputation for financial confidentiality and integrity.
Stringent regulatory oversight allows fiduciary and trustee businesses to offer an extensive range of services including trusts, company registration and management, limited partnerships, and intellectual property protection. Investment funds, insurance, banking and legal services have shaped BVI into one of the most highly integrated financial centres in the world.
In BVI, the traditional Business Company (BC) is the most popular type although other vehicles are readily available.
BVI companies are used for a multitude of business and personal purposes. These include holding companies, facilitating joint ventures, listing activities, managing real estate, succession planning and yacht / aircraft registration. Structures including companies limited by guarantee, unlimited entities and segregated portfolio and restricted purpose (SPV) companies are available.
Apart from conventional trusts, BVI offers specialised vehicles such as Private Trust Companies (PTCs) and the exclusive VISTA trust regime.
BVI accommodates several types of investment fund including Segregated Portfolio Companies (SPC), Limited Partnerships and Unit Trusts. Depending on specific requirements, the jurisdiction allows registration as Open Ended or recognition as Closed Ended entities.
